Family Matters

in cap.jpg (32715 bytes)

Family mattered a great deal to Herb. In fact, family was really the whole deal. We, who are his children, celebrate his extraordinary generosity, which allowed all of us to follow our own, sometimes unconventional, paths. He took great pride in our successes--especially those successes that were called son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and grandchild.

Israel Cantor Family Society

The Israel Cantor Family Society is one of the oldest Jewish family groups in the United States. These family groups, called landsmenschaften in Yiddish, were formed to provide social and networking opportunities for immigrants in America. The ICFS was founded by family members at a party held to celebrate, coincidentally, Herb's bris in 1913. The Society has been in existence for 87 years.
